We used Hoboken painter to paint our entire rental unit and we are planning to use them again to paint our duplex when the renovation is over. We had a great experience of working with Yura and his team. We appreciated the through and very professional communication from the beginning of our project till the end. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the online invoice and the link for payments. Their prices are also very reasonable! Yura and his team are very professional and open for honest feedback. They don't try to persuade you that "nothing is perfect" or give other typical excuses, they will just work till your complete satisfaction! That is very important for us, as we were hearing too many "excuses" during the renovation of our brownstone and got very tired of it!

Highly recommend! I contacted Hoboken Painter for a quote to paint walls, closets, trim/crown molding, doors, and ceilings of my recently purchased 1 bed 1 bath condo in Hoboken. HP's communication skills are excellent. Yuriy contacted me almost immediately, and met me the next day to tour the property. The quote was very reasonable considering the extent of the project, and he was able to meet my tight timeframe. Once hired he helped with paint color selection and kept me updated on the status of the project. The crew did a fabulous job, working efficiently and addressing specific requests I had (patch work, sanding, etc.). I couldn't be more pleased with the result and I would definitely hire Yuriy and his team again in the future.

I contacted this company for painting of my entire 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment, including closets. The crown molding needed to be caulked and some holes patched up.

After requesting a quote, Nick called me within minutes, and said he could be at my place and give me an estimate within an hour. I loved him already. So efficient. Nick showed up, asked me details about what I wanted, what color, finish, and quality of paint. Did a walkthrough, made notes and gave me an estimate. I immediately asked for a date, and we were scheduled for the following week.

Nick confirmed our appointment and the color a couple of days prior. Loved the through communication from the beginning till the end. That's one of very important characteristics I look for when working with someone.

Our day came, Nick and his crew arrived on time,  they were all setting up and preparing for the painting. One was unscrewing the outlets and switches, meanwhile someone else was preparing and covering the floor, someone else was checking if anything else needed to be moved out of the way.

They all worked like a well oiled machine. Their teamwork was something I could highly appreciate.

They were done in 2 days, from morning to night, working really hard to make my place perfect for eventual sale.

They did such an AMAZING job!! I contacted Nick last Tuesday for a quote to paint my one bedroom apartment. I wanted it painted within a week and a half (which I consider a pretty fast turn around, especially since the upcoming weekend was Memorial Day weekend). He came to the apartment the following day to give me a pretty accurate estimate. I was very specific in the items I wanted painted and what I wanted fixed and expressed my concern regarding my new hardwood floors. I also had a little problem with the paint I wanted. I had a pint of Sherwin Williams paint but Nick assured me he could take that to the place he works with and they could match the color for me. We scheduled for the following Tuesday morning. Fast forward to Tuesday, Nick and his team showed up on time and immediately started laying drop cloths. We walked the apartment again saying what should be painted and what should be fixed just to confirm. I got a call about 5 1/2 hours later saying they were finished! Did my walk through and could not be happier! The floors were intact and the lines were extremely nice (different colors on the wall versus ceiling). The estimate was also what I paid so no hidden fees for me! I highly recommend!

My apartment is a converted factory with very high ceilings, awkard nooks and crannies, exposed beams, stairs, difficult ladder positioning, etc.  Basically, a painter's nightmare!  I just bought the place (read:  my budget was depleted), but it was in urgent need of a coat of paint.  I called four contractors for quotes.  One declined the job on account of the difficulty factor, and the other two provided proposals of more than double Nick's price and schedule.

Nick visited me two or three times whenever I needed further information or changed my mind about something, and he did so ever friendly and polite, in spite of no guarantee of getting the job.  When we finally settled on a scope and price, he was there promptly at the arranged time, with his assistant and his wife.  Before speaking to Nick, my rough estimate was that the job would take at least a week, if done properly.  Nick estimated he should be able to do it in three days.  He ended up delivering it in ONE DAY!!!  Sure, there were a few touch-ups required, so he revisited the next day (again, friendly and polite as ever).

His pre-estimate of the amount of paint it would take was spot-on, and I was left with about half a gallon for future touch-ups.  We misunderstood each other on the need to paint the bathrooms, so he pre-purchased paint for these, but when I told him I did not need them painted, he was absolutely fine with it and was happy to take the paint back at no cost to me.

I am somewhat pedantic about painting:  it has to be perfect for me to be happy with it (which is part of the reason why I did not want to take on this task myself...).  All I can say is that I am 100% satisfied with what Nick delivered!  I cannot fault a thing:  value, timing, quality, professionalism.  He scores full marks!

As busy professionals my wife and I didn't have time to paint our condo in downtown Jersey City. After doing some research on the internet we came across the very nice reviews for Nick and his team. I decided to give a call and although he was very busy in the summer months he made it a point to come over and give me a very competitive estimate. We booked a date and him, his wife and brother were here at 745am and finished before I returned home from work. I tried to pay before I went to work but he said don't pay until you inspect our work. As a busy professional, the last thing I have time for are errands in the middle of the day.  I had Nick come out to my condo in the evening of the same day that I called him.  He gave me a fair estimate, had a very warm personality, and came back the next morning at 7:45am and finished the job by 1pm that same day.  I was able to visit the apartment off-hours again with him to review the work. He and his wife and team did an amazing job with my 1BR condo and didn't miss a single spot!  His attention to detail is impeccable as he patched up a few areas that even I hadn't noticed.  

He only takes cash, so be sure to visit your ATM after he gives you the estimate.  

All in all, he took the stress off my back and got the job done within 24 hours.

If you feel like reading - I highly recommend Nick and his helpers! Hubby and I recently moved into our first home and we hired Nick to come and paint the entire 2 bedroom 2 bath. He came over one night and took just under 5 minutes to assess how much everything would cost. Since we were moving 3 days later, we selfishly wanted everything painted prior to that. As we were painting every single wall and every single door, this had to take more than just one day. Even so, Nick was able to squeeze us in the very next day and get started! We were so relieved to say the least. Over the next week, we worked out a schedule and he is so flexible as he had his helper (Stephan) come and do most of the work when Nick was otherwise engaged. On the very last day, Nick had brush in one hand, and me pointing out minor places that needed touch up. The end result is amazing. I can't wait to show off my new place to friends and family, and I'm sure they will love the paint job as much as I do. Nick and Stephan are so friendly, and I will definitely hire them again.

I was on a very tight schedule to move into my house and was unlucky to hire a painter who seemed to be highly recommended but did a horrible job painting my house, was slow and careless so I had to find someone else. This time I went to Yelp and contacted Nick for help. He arrived the same day, provided a very reasonable estimate and said they can start the next day. Stefan and Francisco arrived on time and within 8 hours completely re-done my dining room which involved scraping old wallpaper, sanding, plastering the walls and painting. They have done high quality work and were nice and respectful. Over the next two days Stefan has repainted the trims upstairs and did great job too! I signed up for Yelp with the singular purpose to leave this review as my experience with Hoboken Painters was so terrific.  Nick actually has completed two condo projects for us.  I've worked with several painters in the past, but he and his crew stand out.  Nick is that "old fashioned" kind of painting pro that has a terrific eye for details, knows how to rehab an old wall back to almost new, and gets the job done on time and in budget.  When he tells you he will show up at 8:50am (quirky, right?) he does!  His three-man crew is pleasant, hard working and very skilled at making your home look great quickly and efficiently.  Nick will work with you on choosing the right type of paint (and if he tells you to "go matte" when you want flat - listen to him - he's right!) and uses only Benjamin Moore products.  I was on a tight budget for my first project, and we worked out compromises to meet my needs and his.  I cannot recommend Nick enough!

The way Nick does is perfect, prompt, reliable with very reasonable cost. And he smiles.

Nick painted my apartment, in J.C.'s Hamilton Park neighborhood, a few weeks ago.

Though I understand he sometimes brings several family members along with him, for my place he brought a team of two super men: Stefan and Carlos, What a dynamic trio! He told me they would do it all in one day--which really sold me--and they did indeed. They showed up with all the paint needed before 9 a.m. and were out before 5. They removed everything from the walls, moved the furniture into the center of the room and covered it carefully and did a neat, professional job. I said I needed some patching done, but had underestimated the extent of it. But they handled it coolly and calmly. I love the place now!

Price was exactly what I had been quoted, and they were three very pleasant people to have around the apartment. Nick makes it so easy to paint, or I should say, to get painted. . .

Although I've already repainted the wall in question, Hoboken Painter did make good on this by refunding the portion of the cost that would have gone to hiring a pro to repaint it. I'm satisfied by this resolution, and also by the fact that they really do stand by their work.

After a failed attempt at me trying to paint a room in my new apartment, I realized I needed professional help for the rest of the apartment. Nick and his team came to the rescue!

Nick came by one evening to check the apartment and give me a more accurate quote. I have to say he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I had minimal lighting in the apartment and he was kind enough to look around in the semi darkness and offered me a ride to the train station afterwards! The estimate was very very reasonable for the quality of service and the actual painting.

I cant say enough about Nick, you only have to make sure you and him are on the same page because his English isn't great. But his work is spot on. He did my 2700 square foot home , top to bottom in 3 days before I moved in. After the furniture arrived he came back and fixed all the marks the furniture movers made on the walls. A truly professional job done by a bunch of nice people. He had a gentleman named Stefan who helped us with colors also.  Great Guys. I cant say enough. Also they come on time, almost to the minute.  I forgot to say I hired Nick after I went to see a recent job of his while he was working, that's when I decided he was the one, and he worked on Saturday to make sure we were ready for the movers on Monday........

When I found "Hoboken Painter" online I thought that I had found exactly what I needed. After requesting a quote and receiving a quote via email I tried to set up an appointment, however even though I had attempted contacting by email and phone I never heard anything back. When I tried to contact him again he acted like he never heard about my job and said that he would have to come out to do a quote. We scheduled for him to come out to do a quote the next day at 6:00pm (within the next 24 hours) and even asked for me to write him an email as a reminder. When he didn't show or respond to the email, my text or phone calls I assumed that he would not be coming. I later received a text from him, "Sorry, my working day from 6:30am to 7:30pm. Please you find someone." Which I can only assume means that he doesn't want my business. Now we are stuck doing the job ourselves because I first emailed 6 days ago now. Poor business and NO customer service.

Nick has painted most of our JC condo, and has done a fantastic job for us! He was able to finish the jobs quickly but with care, and his quotes were always correct.  He even picked up the paint for us!  We would hire him again!

From the reviews, I thought that he would be very diligent but the paint job was sloppy and he lost a couple of my switch plate covers and reinstalled my doors incorrectly. I would not hire him again.

I needed to find a painter to paint my 2 bedroom condo in Maxwell place and after some searching on our internal building website Nick was suggested to me by another resident.  I was able to get in touch with him and he came by quickly to perform the initial estimate which was very reasonable in price in relation to other painters in the area.  He also gave detailed information on the suggested type of paint which i was able to get myself through someone i knew at Benjamin Moore at a discount.  Nick got the painting done quickly the same week i was moving in and came back to do some touchups.  He was very flexible around meeting me around my schedule and such a great person who impressed both me and my girlfriend with his kind manner.  I'd suggest him to anyone in Hoboken looking to have work done.

Nick worked on on of my 2BR, 2 Ba property at Adams Street, was very reasonable and professional and fast. He arrived on time and gave me a price up-front.

Nick did a great job on painting and repairing my walls and doors.  He's a very pleasant man, always smiling. I can tell he is concerned about quality -- old school craftsmanship.  He speaks limited English, so you need to keep the instructions and conversation to the basics. But his happy demeanor makes up for the language skills.  He brought his assistant, Sasha, with him, who was also very good.  One tip is to make sure you're paying by the hour or by the project up front. I was a little confused. But in the end, the hourly rate quoted happened to turn out to be what he estimated for the whole job. So all ended well.
